Book Abstract: When a revolutionary uprising erupted in Syria during the spring of 2011, pockets of local resistance and the nascent institutions therein transformed into clusters of rudimentary participatory politics and service delivery. Despite the collective fatigue induced by the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, the United States and its allies embarked on an effort to encourage liberal, democratic politics amid the Syrian conflict. As a result, the project of 'good rebel governance' became the latest attempt at Western democracy promotion. This book moves the scholarship on insurgent rule forward by considering how governing authority arises and evolves during violent conflict, and whether particular institutions of insurgent rule can be cultivated through foreign intervention. In so doing, the book theorizes not only about the nature of authoritative rebel governance but also tests the long-standing precepts that have undergirded Western promotion of democracy abroad.

Ariane Tabatabai, chief of staff to the Assistant Secretary of Defence for Special Operations and Low Intensity Conflict, was part of an “Iran Experts Initiative” created by senior Iranian foreign ministry officials to bolster Tehran’s position on global security issues, particularly its nuclear programme. In other words, Tabatabai was an agent of influence for Iran, at the heart of the US government and with the highest level of security clearance.

Nuclear War is not a "theory" as the USA has fought and won by use of two atomic bombs. As far as actualizing use in the 21st Century the only difference between then and now and it is critical is how the *THREAT* to use the WMD is "seen" with all modern studies regarding this matter *ALL* agreeing that the *THREAT* to use the WMD is in fact far worse than actual use #lowering_the_threshold #first_use #confidence_building_measures #lowering_the_threat_level

Follow the money professor Sachs, who has made a fortune in this pandemic. Contact Drs Tess Lawrie and Mark Tozzi of the 'world council for health', a formidable non-profit with truth saying doctors, scientists and lawyers (the latter winning many cases of vaccine damage in US right now 2024). It is now 2024 and the Prime Minister Henry jus resigned. I came here and stayed because a BBC report mentioned Michael and then a Wiki page mention that Raul Peck did an intro for one of Michael's books on Haiti. Kudos to Mr. Deibert for maintaining his dekorum under heated commentary. None I think directed at him but illuminating for how a person dedicated to his insights maintain his soft demeanor under what could have become a shouting match. My search goes on to learn more as the mainstream media today 2024 continues to use the term GANGS to describe those who currently run Port A Prince. I knew there was more and got off to a good start here.

Abdulrahman Anwar al-Awlaki (also spelled al-Aulaqi, Arabic: all jagg August 26, 1995 - October 14, 2011) was a 16-year-old United States citizen who was killed by a drone strike on October 14, 2011, under a policy approved by U.S. President Barack Obama. During her years in the Obama administration, Haines worked closely with John Brennan in determining administration policy on extra-judicial "targeted killings" by drones.[5] Newsweek reported Haines was sometimes called in the middle of the night to evaluate whether a suspected terrorist could be "lawfully incinerated" by a drone strike. In September 2023, Pentagon Chief of Staff Ariane Tabatabai, an Iranian immigrant, was accused of having worked as an agent of the Tehran regime. Dissident media outlets produced emails that allegedly showed that Tabatabai had joined an initiative by the Iranian Foreign Ministry to coordinate operations and that she had even run her congressional testimony on Iran’s nuclear program past the head of an Iranian Foreign Ministry think tank.

Great talk. Much appreciated. I would have liked a little more scepticism about the idea that the US is 'bearing a cross' for Europe, in that it has less equality than European countries but therefore more innovation, which European countries then rely on for their own prosperity. I'm not saying confidently that that is wrong. I don't know. But I'd like to hear the claim scrutinised in various ways. For instance, assuming there really is (demonstrably) this trade-off happening between equality and innovation, is that inevitable? If so, why exactly? Is there not the implicit assumption there that the only motivator that can play a big role in innovation is the prospect of increasing wealth, or even increasing wealth relative to others? Yet that idea clashes with what many innovators say are their main motivators. And how would we be accounting for any sectors in which Europe is demonstrably more innovative than the US? Maybe certain cultural sectors, for instance, or maybe the car industry. And then... I think, within the EU, some of the most egalitarian countries are also some of the most innovative. You see the basis of my doubts.
